Supermarket Recalls Product

A leading Irish supermarket chain has been forced to recall one of it’s top selling products.

The “Vegan Surprise” was removed from shelves last night after a decision taken by top executives. The product contains no dairy or animal ingredients and according to some – it’s delicious, nutritious and tasty.

However it is understood that a vociferous outcry from the public led to the recall. Complaints were made to company headquarters, individual stores, Joe Duffy and the Taoiseach. It’s believed one person sent a letter to US president Donald Trump.

All complaints centred on the fact that there’s no meat contained in the product. A woman from Leitrim chained herself to a road sign for the supermarket. She clutched a poster with a picture of the product and a message asking the important question – “How am I supposed to feed the kids with this Shite?”

A spokesperson said – “The company failed to understand how energised its customers felt about the product and wished to express regret at assailing the Irish shopping public in such a manner. They now wished to reach out and talk to the public.”

In a further announcement the company stated they merely wanted to introduce more earth conscious items to its customers. They promised to carefully consider their options in future.
