Up Up and Away

French aircraft manufacturer Airbus unveiled plans to produce a zero emission hydrogen fuelled passenger aircraft. It’s the world’s first venture for such a commercial aircraft.

The primary source of power to be used will be Hydrogen. It is regarded as “clean” technology. When combined with Oxygen to produce the required electricity the only waste output will be water. This has the potential to significantly reduce the impact of the airline industry on the climate.

But don’t hold your breath, this will not happen immediately with 2035 envisioned as a launch date. Something like this has never ever been tried before and is sure to be a great success. A spokesperson said the project was “not a lot of hot air”, as some commenters have incorrectly stated.
